November 30th to January 2nd, 2020 -River of Lights Festival @ 4:00 pm – 11:00 pm
-Introducing the inaugural River of Lights Festival this December.
The trees on Blockhouse Island will be lit up with over 75,000 LED lights. River of Lights is an interactive and automated programmed light and music show with a mix of traditional Christmas music and modern up beat Christmas music and even some of today’s hits. The show is free and will take place every evening from 4pm – 11 p.m. on Blockhouse Island Brockville, On. from November 30, 2019 to January 2, 2020.
House of Lazarus Food Bank

House of Lazarus is making changes to its store and food bank hours beginning April 1, 2019.
The food bank will now be open from 9 a.m. to 12 pm Monday to Friday
and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Hours of operation for both HOL stores and food bank are being increased for client convenience. The stores including HOL Boutique and Mountain Treasures, will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
“The decision to change our hours of operation for both our stores and food bank arose in response to staff, client and consumer feedback,” HOL executive director Cathy Ashby said.
“The adjusted hours will provide shoppers, donors, and clients with increased access to staff and services. At House of Lazarus, we’re continuously trying to find ways to meet the needs of those in our community and, with that in mind, changing our hours of operation just made sense.”

Minds in Song: This singalong group welcomes persons living with dementia and their caregivers, as well as all interested members of the community. Every Friday from 10 – 11 am (excepting holidays) at the Good Shepherd-Lutheran Church, 374 Stewart Blvd, Brockville. Enter at the back door. Song sheets, live musical accompaniment and group leaders provided free of charge. No experience necessary! No registration required – just pop in.
